On Tuesday our internet stopped working. I called the company for help, and they couldn’t send a technician to our home until today. 4 days with no connection. 4 days trying to communicate on a 3G network (because our Verizon service here is horrible). That’s the main reason I haven’t posted any more 365 Project pictures. I was unplugged from the source. The technician verified that our line had been cut when workers were digging this week.
Attempting to operate my daily life without any internet connection was frustrating. I didn’t have the ability myself to create the power to function properly. It reminded me of an analogy someone once gave me of our souls being like a God shaped computer. We can’t use our computer if we aren’t plugged into the SOURCE. Psalm 139:13 “For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
When God knits us together in our mother’s womb, He wires us to need HIM. Staying connected to the source of life, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control gives us the supernatural power we can’t create on our own. When we sever the line created only to connect to God, it’s like running our life on a 3G network. It just doesn’t do the job. Energy runs out and frustration sets in. Thankfully, my internet is up and running properly, again. God uses a simple example of no internet to remind me once again that apart from my constant connection to him, I can do nothing.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who abides in me while I abide in him produces much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”
